crystals that cured my boycott ...

some of you may have heard about my recent boycott of the walmart right by my place of work. it was all a matter of customer NON-service and my emotional breakdown in aisle 12.

i was having a stressful week and making silly mistakes, and rushing through the checkout self-serve lane and forgot to take the $40 cash back i requested. needless to say, the money was gone by the time i returned to the scene of my doofus error.

now, let's say, for the sake of argument, i was the walmart customer service rep and another person came up to me with this problem - what would i have done? first and foremost, i would have COMMISERATED with the poor person (even if, under my breath, i was thinking she was an idiot). i would NOT have told her there was nothing i could do and she would have to call the police to look at the security tapes. because if i HAD done that, she would have gone and called the police, who (while doing an admirable job of commiserating) would tell her that they simply can't afford the man power or cost of investigating a $40 loss that was her own fault.

when that same person then came back to return the items she had bought - so she could have cash for the evening out she had long been looking forward to with the girls, i certainly would NOT have asked her the REASON for the return or anything else, for that matter. i would have returned the items and told her i was sorry for her misfortune.

unfortunately, it was not me being the customer service person. rather, i was the person (under my breath idiot) who left her $40 for some unscrupulous person to abscond with. i was aghast at the rudeness of the staff - and the complete disregard for my situation. i swore never to set foot in that walmart again. there was only one small problem with that declaration ... well, two ... okay, three small problems.

1. they are so dang close and directly on my way home!
2. they have my prescriptions
3. they had crystal light, lemon-lime flavoured on sale for $0.50 a BOX!!!

yup. my cheapness combined with my love of crystal light flavoured water and need for convenience brought me back.

i am such a wimp.

LOL! Why didn't my blog feed show up for this post until today?! I can't believe I missed it.

I have the same problem here with the Walmart photo place. 'No, my child's eyes are not bright purple in real life...do you think you maybe should have fixed that before giving me my photos?!' Generally speaking I think employees of Walmart are brainless, uneducated cretons. (With one exception of my friend's mom who works there in Calgary and does 100% of everyone else' work as well as her own because no one else is capable!) Now if Canada had Target...I can't believe the difference!!! See..now you got me going! Hehe. K.
