then i remembered i DO have a camera! it is also goes by the name of "cell phone" ... in a bizarre twist of fate, this allows me to make good on a promise from loooong ago and show you all the evidence of my heathenism - my tattoo!
i have wanted a tattoo since i was 16 ... but i never could think of something that i would want on me FOR-EV-ER. good thing i didn't get one then. i would still have a turtle and i wouldn't be happy with it. later on, it became daisies. i have also outgrown this. then, when i knew i was going to go for it, i decided on having a BOOK tattooed on me. everyone thought this was lame (even the people who like the idea of tattoos). i know i wouldn't have regretted it, but before i could decide to forget everyone else's opinion, i realized what it really needed to be: a mouse.
when my dad and step-monster first got together, they would go on trips and when they did, i was left with a brass mouse for each of them, and they took a cute one with them that represented me. when my sisters were born a little mouse was added for each of them. and when my aunt (who collects pigs) decided i HAD to collect SOMETHING, i chose mice. since then, i have accumulated a lovely little menagerie. but first and foremost, mice (for me) are a symbol of family.
when meg, furbit and i did our trek from LA to edmonton, we spent a few days in vegas. meg and decided to "go for it" - but all the shops on the strip were closed by the time we made up our minds (okay. by the time i made up my mind. she was all for it all along.) eventually we found an off-the-strip, stereotypical, dive of a tattoo parlor and cautiously made our way up the steps of "naked city tattoo" (yes, i was sober).
the guy we met who did our tattoos was AWESOME! and, according to meg, i was awesome too. apparently, as the wussy sister, i was supposed to cry at least a little. ha! i giggled more than anything. i designed it myself, with some artistic improvement coming from the professional, and i made sure it was somewhere that would be covered by any shoes or sandals i wore. and now, without further ado, i give you:
number six, the mousey tattoo!!

Ha! That is great. I remember the post where you "came out" about your tattoo. Or inadvertently came out. It is quite the cute little guy. Does it have a name? Or am I the only one who likes to name stuff? (Hey, come to think of it....Kendon and I never named our van. hmmmm. I must get thinking.)
Anyway, cute mouse. Thanks for sharing!
And I like the idea of a book btw. Very you. I think you should go for number two!!!!
